We began Monday of Red Ribbon Week with a Math Carnival for grades 3, 4, 5 & 6. Students had to solve questions and earn tickets along the way. One of the favorite activity was the pie throw. Parents helped run the booths and donated awesome prizes and sweet treats. The theme for the day was “Math is a cool choice!”

Spreading FALL cheer to the elderly residents of West Melbourne Rehabilitation Center is a wonderful way to learn about helping others and service during Red Ribbon Week. Our students in grades 3 and 4 prepared song, showed their seasonal spirit and shared a cup of cider with their new friends.

Grades 1 and 2 are hard at work doing math activities. They are learning to be independent and growing in confidence as the use number sense.

Our students in grades 1 and 2 are using Becky Bailey’s Shubert’s BIG Voice to learn how to stand up for themselves and use their words. They are practicing with peers and led our school’s pep rally to promote anti-bullying this week.
“Love can build a bridge”… is the final theme for our Red Ribbon Week. Our grade 1 and 2 students shared a song and motions to this beautiful song. We are very proud of our students for committing to making good choices and saying no to destructive behavior. Let’s continue to support this theme all year!
